The floor consists of broad planks of original-growth North American pitch pine hardwood (salvaged from 19th century buildings in the UK)  

This home is built for scalable entertaining—it has seen intimate farm-to-table dinners in the three-season outdoor room, small-group retreats, music salons for 50 people, as well as large-scale events. It has played host to entertainers such as world-renowned flamenco guitarist Jesse Cook, top UK jazz vocalist Ian Shaw, award-winning Canadian bassist Dave Young, and many others. 

Embodying the very best of a period mansion house the kitchen is a spectacular focal point of the Great Room. Featuring European sourced and hand finished cabinetry, plenty of counter space and an oversized hand painted island. A limestone surround perfectly frames the Lacanche gas stove. Sub Zero and Miele accompanying appliances as expected.

An adjacent 35x22-ft Outdoor Room virtually doubles the size of the Great Room. A built-in BBQ, a wet bar clad in stone and wood and built-in seating are perfect for relaxed evenings with friends and family, while heated stone floors and a limestone fireplace make entertaining practical for three seasons of the year surrounded by nature. Enjoy epicurean delights with friends and family, or spend indulgent afternoons stretched out with a good book. 

The Master bedroom complex is a retreat-within-a-retreat. Connected to the rest of the home by a glass-walled breezeway, it is a roomy oasis with plank-and-beam ceilings. The complex includes a huge bedroom with a generous wood-burning fireplace, an opulent ensuite bathroom, walk-through closet and dedicated wellness room perfect for meditation or yoga.

Most every room on the first floor lets out directly onto extensive, carefully architected and landscaped English style grounds, including two separate leafy bowers and a sun deck, all on broad flagstone patios. There is also a lookout deck adjacent to a natural spring that trickles down to the pond as well as a pond side fire pit.

Sitting under vine-covered trellises in the summer heat is a slice of heaven. Stroll across the lawn for a dip in the pond, or try your hand at catching a meal of Striped Bass.
